Getting to Octopus Resort
Getting to Octopus
Octopus Resort is located 27 nm from the Fijian mainland, on Waya Island, the largest land mass in the Yasawa Island Group.
Octopus's own fast new water taxi "Magic", departs daily from Vuda Marina ( a few kms from the Airport in Nadi) at 10am, the trip to Octopus takes approx 50 mins and returns from the resort daily in the afternoon at 1 pm.
At peak times we operate an additional daily transfer giving customers an option of later departures from the mainland and from the resort. One these days our boat departs Vuda marina at 9am and 1pm and departs from the resort at 11am and 3pm. The additional boat run is done on an adhoc basis and is dependent on customer demand. Due to the last minute nature of the second service we can not guarantee that a second departure is available however we will accommodate customers where we can. If you prefer a later departure please enquire with our reservation staff or resort management team on the day prior to your arrival or departure to establish if an additional transfer run will be operating.
If your flight arrives in Fiji after 4pm you may need to stay one night on the mainland before your stay at Octopus. If your flight departs Fiji before 11 am you may have to spend the night before your departure on the mainland.
Magic is available for private charter for those wanting to connect flight times outside the time windows for our regular daily runs.
Charter rate starts from $300 USD for up to 4 pax, for more than 4 people it is $63 per person.

Our man on the ground is Daniel Paul. Dan will collect you from the airport arrival lounge in Nadi and take you directly to our boat, or to any Nadi or Lautoka hotel or resort. No matter how hard we try, we can't manage to convince Dan to take a break, so you can bet your last dollar that regardless of the time, day or night, you'll be greeted by Dan's friendly smile. Dan has been working alongside Octopus for many years and offers our guests great rates and an extremely reliable friendly service.
Every employer would love to have someone like Dan on the team. Dan's enthusiasm, willingness to help and the seemingly never ending ways he goes the extra mile to help our guests, makes him a wonderful asset. Dan offers comprehensive sightseeing tours or guided shopping excursions - why pay "vavalangi" prices when Dan can negotiate local rates for you?
Dan can be contacted directly, or the staff at Octopus would be happy to make a booking on your behalf, so whatever you're up to, before or after your stay at Octopus, contact Dan for all your local transport, sightseeing and shopping needs.
South Sea Cruises
There are two options for arrival by boat to Octopus:
"South Sea Cruises" operate a big yellow catermaran which departs Denaurau Marina daily at 8.30am and arrives at Octopus at 11.00 am ( 2 1/2 hours), and returns to take guests back to the mainland at 3 pm (after travelling up the Yasawas to the blue lagoon), arriving back at Denaurau Marina at 6.30pm each day.
Octopus's own fast new water taxi "Magic", departs daily from Vuda Marina ( a few kms from the Airport in Nadi) at 10am, the trip to Octopus takes approx 50 mins and returns from the resort daily in the afternoon at 1 pm.

If you've selected one of our holiday package deals, your transfer fees are included in the price of the package you have selected and you will travel on Magic.
If you are arriving at Octopus from another property in the Yasawa's or Beachcomber Island then you will probably arrive on the Yasawa Flyer ( South Sea Cruises).
We are happy to help you with any issues relating to your arrival or departure details.

We will be happy to make a booking on your behalf.
So that's all the hard stuff, let us take care of all the details, all you need to do now is book and then come join us for a cocktail and a sunset sometime soon.
